The first round of the lower bracket of the play-offs of the Warcraft 3 Champions League were played yesterday between  Serious Gaming's Warcraft III and the good people of Raptor Gaming. The teams are considered evenly matched, but Raptor went into the match with a 2-0 advantage due to a pre-poned two vs. two that ended in their favor, putting all pressure on Serious Gaming to even the score.

The first 1on1 was between Hjalmar 'DowaQ' Högberg and Artem 'Cash' Schirobokov. Cash managed to take home the first map, putting Serious at a 0-3 disadvantage overall, just one maploss away from being eliminated from this season of WC3L. DowaQ recovered in the next map and ended up with a 1-1 score vs. his Russian opponent.

After this it was Serious Gaming's  Dong Hwan 'viOlet' Kim 's turn as he faced Swedish pride Marcus 'Thorzain' Eklöf. viOlet convincingly beat the Human player with a 2-0 score, putting the overall score to 3-3, a tied game. Thus the war had to be resulted by a ACE Match where both teams put their best players on a map which would determine the winner.

Raptor Gaming put their stock in Cash, Serious Gaming decided to go with viOlet. The two played a high pressure game on Turtle Rock which saw viOlet come on top, thus ending the clan war in a win for Serious.Razer who is now qualified for the second round of the lower bracket where they will face ieS. The next round is not for another two weeks as WC3L will be taking a break due to the Chinese new year. Serious is already ensured a top 6 finish in the gaming world's most prestigious team competition.
